Mission statement 

  • Establish the strategy plan to develop and lead L&L’s Chinese business, support business in other Asian countries, and establish the strategy plan to work closely with EMEA, Indian and American team.
  • Member of the APAC Management Team

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and ensure that commercial activities are conducted in a manner that is consistent with our Vision, Goals and Shareholder Guiding Expectations and applicable laws.
  2. Day-to-day responsibility for our business in China, including profitability as well as guiding and implementing the long-term direction established by APAC President, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors, with particular emphasis on the Company’s China operations.
  3. Provide the necessary mentoring, guidance, and support to the all employees in the country so that they understand L&L culture including our vision, values and shareholder guiding expectations, the L&L business model, our systems, our products, and the value that our products bring to the customer.
  4. Ensure employees are respected and listened to and ensure that their needs are attended appropriately.
  5. Develop China Business Plan, including capital investments and timing, for approval by the APAC President, ensuring it is developed to support agreed-upon long-term Global Strategic Objectives.
  6. Implement approved business plan for China.
  7. Ensure communication of the Global Strategic Objectives and the China Business Plan throughout the organization; the reasons behind those Objectives and Initiatives; and the specific impacts on individual roles within the Company.
  8. Make sure the long-term (5 year and over) Chinese strategy is in harmony with the long-term customers’ specifics trends, customers’ expectations and company long-term strategy defined by L&L Executive team.
  9. Distinguish and identify current and future product needs of both local and foreign customers.
  10. Motivate the development of the China management team and employees to improve their abilities and inspire and reach their potential.
  11. Encourage practices that facilitate open communication between the various disciplines and individuals in the organization and across the regions.
  12. Establish performance goals for all direct reports and monitor performance on a continual basis.
  13. Define the needed reporting tools to monitor operations.
  14. Monitor the monthly results and expenses.

As a APAC Management Team member:

  1. Develops with the Asian Management Team the APAC Strategic Plan based on L&L Executive team input.
  2. Participates in ensuring profits and long-term sustainability of the company.
  3. Support all personnel to achieve their targets and potential while enhancing the team work spirit.
  4. Develops, maintains and improves business relations with all customers and all other outside contacts.

Authority:

  1. Establish all policies for the China team to achieve the above responsibilities.
  2. Make recommendations for all hiring, wage review, disciplinary, and termination actions to L&L APAC President or appropriate Directors/Manager for dotted line reports.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor degree or above, MBA is a plus;
  2. More than 15 years working experience in with “Commercial”, “Operations” or “General Management”.
  3. Strong business acumen paired with hands-on mentality to adapt to the challenges within an international organization.
  4. Profound knowledge of the automotive industry with long-term commercial experience in China including proven track.
  5. Highly business & process-driven paired with hands-on mentality, and ability to establish/meet sales objectives.
  6. Distinct experience in top/senior leadership roles particularly in businesses with integrated value chains exposed to highly cyclical and structurally challenged conditions.
  7. Relentless drive for business profitability, with strong commercial and financial background based on analytical rigor & fundamental knowledge of business drivers, balancing customer & operational needs.
  8. Proven track record of solving cross-functional issues in a forward-looking manner.
  9. Capable to perform risk assessment.
  10. Cross-functional thinking paired with strong communication skills.
  11. Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
  12. Good strategic, conceptual and analytical thinker paired with entrepreneurial spirit.
  13. Solves problems through development of practical solutions and alternatives.
  14. Strategically thinker and proven ability to develop and execute accordingly strategic plan.
  15. Charisma, strong leadership, team player and innovative mind set.
  16. Self-motivated and result driven.
  17. Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
  18. Willing to travel frequently.
