General Manager of China

***This position is located in our China location***

Duties / Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Ensure that commercial activities are conducted in a manner that is consistent with our vision, values, and shareholder’s expectations.
  • Responsible for the day to day business in China, including profitability as well as guiding and implementing the long-term direction established by the APAC President, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors, with emphasis on the company’s China operations.
  • Provide the necessary guidance and support to all employees to ensure they understand L&L’s culture, vision and values.
  • Develop and implement China’s Business Plan, including capital investments and timing for approval by the APAC President. Responsible for making sure the plan is developed to support agreed upon long term Global Strategic Objectives.
  • Responsible for the communication of the Global Strategic Objectives and the China Business Plan throughout the organization providing reasoning behind those objectives/initiatives as well as specific impacts on individual roles within the company.
  • Make sure China’s long-term strategy is in alignment with the customer’s long-term trends and expectations along with L&L’s Executive Team defined long-term strategy.
  • Identify current/future product needs of both local and foreign customers.
  • Encourage practices that facilitate open communication between the various disciplines and individuals within the organization.
  • Establish performance goals for all direct reports and monitor performance on a continual basis.
  • Define the required reporting tools to monitor operations.
  • Monitor monthly results and expenses.


  • 4-year degree, MBA is a plus.
  • More than 15 years of experience with commercial, operations or general management.
  • Strong business acumen paired with hands-on mentality to adapt to the challenges within an international organization.
  • Profound knowledge of the automotive industry with long-term commercial experience in China.
  • Highly business and process-driven with the ability to establish/meet sales objectives.
  • Experienced in senior leadership roles particularly in businesses with integrated value chains exposed to highly cyclical and structurally challenged conditions.
  • Relentless drive for business profitability as well as strong commercial and financial background.
  • Proven track record of solving cross-functional issues in a forward-looking manner.
  • Experienced in performing risk assessment.
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English.
