IT Operations Support

Duties / Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Work with fellow team members to ensure the delivery of high level support to our customers
  • Stays current on the latest industry technologies, trends and strategies and recommends solutions for future designs
  • Perform preventative maintenance and support for servers and network equipment (software/firmware upgrades)
  • Perform Disaster Recovery planning, implementation, replication, snapshots/backups, and testing
  • Resolve tier 2 support tickets and share in 7×24 off-hour rotational support
  • Troubleshoot and perform break-fix tasks on all system/network related devices

Authorities of this position include:

  • Backup and recovery of Business System Data following approved guidelines
  • Computer system shutdowns without notice if needed to protect computer systems from potential failures or disasters
  • Authorized to work with vendors to provide best price/performance options to L&L for computer systems and support
  • Authorized to approve system changes to our production systems and determine when the changes should be implemented following our change control process

 

Job Requirements:

 Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Computer Applications with 7 + years of practical work experience; Microsoft Certifications preferred

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem and troubleshooting skills on a variety of technical issues
  • Must be a self-starter demonstrating the willingness to address / resolve ambiguity and conflict within complex business change projects
  • Fundamental networking knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, ACLs, RSTP, routing, switching, IPsec VPN tunnels

Required areas of expertise:

  • VMware vSphere Suite
  • Fundamental networking knowledge
  • Fibre Channel SAN
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008/12/16
  • Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP, DFS, NPS, PowerShell
  • Microsoft Office 365 administration

Preferred knowledge of:

  • Meraki wireless
  • Cisco ASA/Fortinet Firewalls
  • Juniper Switches (Junos OS)
  • Avaya VoIP systems
  • Veeam/Symantec Backup Exec backup solutions
  • Unix/Linux OS
  • SQL Server database administration
