Duas das tr\u00eas candidaturas not\u00e1veis receberam o <a href=\"https:\/\/altair.com\/enlighten-award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pr\u00e9mio Altair Enlighten<\/a> na categoria de <em>redu\u00e7\u00e3o de peso de ve\u00edculos <\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">A mais recente candidatura para o design de encosto de banco composto no Toyota 2022 Tundra\u2122 foi partilhada na <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compositesworld.com\/articles\/seatback-frame-demonstrates-next-generation-autocomposites-design\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">edi\u00e7\u00e3o de Mar\u00e7o de 2023 do CompositesWorld<\/a>. O artigo explicou todo o processo desde o brainstorm inicial at\u00e9 ao lan\u00e7amento do ve\u00edculo modelo do ano 2022 e como a estrutura do banco da segunda fila era uma \u00e1rea chave em que se devia concentrar para alcan\u00e7ar a poupan\u00e7a de peso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">Foram estabelecidos v\u00e1rios objectivos no in\u00edcio do projecto que levaram a muitos desafios ao longo de todo o processo de concep\u00e7\u00e3o e constru\u00e7\u00e3o. Os objectivos inclu\u00edam: fabrico rent\u00e1vel e eficiente, peso leve e flexibilidade de concep\u00e7\u00e3o para permitir mais espa\u00e7o de armazenamento.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">Com estes objectivos em mente, a Toyota colaborou com v\u00e1rios fornecedores para que isso acontecesse. Os principais componentes compostos foram fabricados por moldador por injec\u00e7\u00e3o, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flex-n-gate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Flex-N-Gate<\/a>. O material comp\u00f3sito foi desenvolvido em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basf.com\/us\/en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BASF<\/a>. E o sistema pultrudido utilizando Comp\u00f3sito Cont\u00ednuo Systems\u2122 (CCS\u2122) foi desenvolvido pela L&amp;L Products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">No in\u00edcio do processo de concep\u00e7\u00e3o, os engenheiros que trabalhavam no projecto perceberam que a largura extra para o encosto do banco da Tundra constituiria um novo desafio para cumprir os rigorosos requisitos de seguran\u00e7a da Toyota. Como referido no artigo, &#8220;para alcan\u00e7ar a rigidez necess\u00e1ria, a estrutura geral do assento teria de ser muito espessa &#8211; o que acrescentaria custos de material e peso &#8211; ou algum tipo de viga de refor\u00e7o teria de ser acrescentado \u00e0 \u00e1rea que transporta as cargas mais pesadas&#8221;. Uma viga faria mais sentido, contudo, tipicamente seria utilizado um material met\u00e1lico &#8211; o que acrescentaria peso adicional.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">\n<p class=\"in-view\">A L&amp;L Products foi contactada nesta fase do processo para explorar se o Comp\u00f3sito Cont\u00ednuo Systems\u2122 (CCS\u2122) poderia ser uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o. Embora o CCS\u2122 tivesse muitas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es anteriormente, nunca tinha sido utilizado para qualquer tipo de aplica\u00e7\u00e3o autom\u00f3vel interior. A modela\u00e7\u00e3o e simula\u00e7\u00e3o desempenharam um papel imperativo no processo de design para assegurar que todos os objectivos seriam alcan\u00e7ados atrav\u00e9s da implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de CCS\u2122 na estrutura do encosto do banco.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">Hank Richardson, director de engenharia de produto da L&amp;L Products, explica o que torna o feixe pultrudido resistente ao choque: &#8220;Uma combina\u00e7\u00e3o de qu\u00edmica de resina afinada para uma rigidez muito elevada, membros de vidro cont\u00ednuo para uma resist\u00eancia m\u00e1xima \u00e0 flex\u00e3o e geometria optimizada da pe\u00e7a&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"in-view\">Foram muitos os desafios enfrentados ao longo de todo o processo &#8211; quer relacionados com a pr\u00f3pria aplica\u00e7\u00e3o ou com eventos globais e econ\u00f3micos &#8211; mas com a equipa certa no local, a aplica\u00e7\u00e3o acabou por ser um sucesso multi-premiado.
