Dry prepreg reinforcement for a wide range of substrates
Meeting a long-existing industry need, L&L has developed a dry prepreg reinforcement that does not require refrigeration or special handling and can be consolidated into a composite structure quickly.
Our lightweight T-Link™ technology is highly customizable and combines the adhesion benefits of an epoxy with the processing ease and flexibility of an engineering thermoplastic. Due to its flexibility, T-Link™ is drapable for deep drawn parts allowing for production of irregularly shaped components.
Depending on application needs, L&L T-Link™ is offered in several forms: resin pellets, powder, transparent film or coated yarn.
T-Link™ comes in pellet form and is typically used in other formulations as a toughener. Our resin is unique in that it has a high strain-to-failure and exhibits excellent adhesive properties.
These attributes make L&L’s T-Link™ resin an ideal solution for composite manufacturers that are seeking a highly customizable composite reinforcement that will be strong and not suffer from brittle failure.
Our T-Link™ film is a dry-to-the-touch, thermoplastic epoxy adhesive that demonstrates 99% optical clarity, therefore, does not disrupt intended color and allows for light transmission where applicable.
It is an ideal matrix as it is a high performing, yet cost-effective solution when compared to traditional thermosets. Our T-Link™ film can be processed with traditional press equipment, has a short cycle time for bonding, does not require refrigeration, and has a long shelf life. Additionally, it has a low odor and is paintable.
Our novel coated yarn is used as a vehicle to introduce a resin into an advanced composite system in order to achieve high strength, toughness, and ease of use. L&L T-Link™ coated yarn can effectively be co-woven or sewn in a number of textile applications to make a dry thermoplastic composite.
