B-Pillar Baffle Solves Sealing Problem
An automotive company recently contacted L&L Products with a problem. A competitor’s baffle in the lower B pillar was failing and a solution was needed quickly to meet the vehicle launch deadline. The function of a lower B pillar baffle is to seal the cavity at the pillar base from the entry of air, water and noise. The competitor’s baffle was positioned near a weld location in the vehicle. The welding process caused the baffle to melt prematurely and not seal the cavity as designed. The L&L Products Development Team created an application design that sealed the cavity with no interference from the welding process. L&L’s innovative problem solving approach resulted in a satisfied customer and new business for the company.
