L&L Products, a global leader in materials science and advanced engineering, celebrated the official opening of its new 84,420-square-foot facility at 425 Distribution Drive in West Columbia, South Carolina, with a dedication ceremony on Thursday, October 8. The larger facility more than doubles the company’s presence in South Carolina and is expected to increase the number of jobs at the site by approximately 30%, with most of the new positions primarily supporting the light industry sector.
The plant was fully commissioned in August 2026 following modernization measures that added a 480V power supply to support the production of DECI-TEX® nonwoven acoustic and thermal insulation technology and related products.
John Babi, President of L&L Products Americas, gave the opening speech at the event:
“L&L Products is proud to have been based in West Columbia for more than 20 years, and since 2003 our talented team has been developing and manufacturing solutions here that help customers around the world make better products. This grand opening is both a celebration of what we have accomplished together and an investment in the future. With space for new equipment, technologies, and employees, this facility will enable us to serve new customers, create new opportunities, and continue to grow in West Columbia.”
The opening ceremony was attended by local team members, company executives, and guests from the West Columbia business community, including representatives from the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the Central SC Alliance, the Lexington County Council, and the Lexington School District.
Dee Reaves, Senior Group Leader at L&L Products, also spoke on behalf of the local team:
