Presentation: Advancing Ambient‑Curable, Crash‑Toughened Structural Adhesives
L&L Products is pleased to participate in the ASC Annual Convention & EXPO in Nashville, Tennessee on April 20–22, 2026. On Day 2, Scientist Ziyan Li will present her latest research: 2K Ambient‑Curable, Crash‑Toughened Structural Adhesive
From Formulation Trade‑offs to OEM‑Level Performance
Time: 14:30–15:00
Ambient‑curable structural adhesives are increasingly required in automotive, EV, marine, and commercial vehicle applications where high‑temperature curing is not feasible. However, achieving high crash toughness, strong adhesion to oily metals, and robust environmental durability at room temperature remains a significant formulation challenge.
This technical presentation will explore a novel two‑component, room‑temperature‑curing structural adhesive developed by L&L Products that delivers crash‑relevant performance traditionally associated with heat‑activated systems. Through a combination of dual toughening mechanisms, optimized resin–curative architecture, and a synergistic diluent strategy, this adhesive achieves high impact resistance, elevated fracture energy, and strong adhesion to minimally prepared metallic substrates — all at viscosities suitable for industrial dispensing.
