L&L Products, a leading materials science and advanced engineering company with global operations, celebrated the official grand opening of its new 84,420-square-foot facility at 425 Distribution Drive in West Columbia, S.C., with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 8. The larger facility more than doubles the company’s footprint in South Carolina and is expected to increase employment at the site by roughly 30%, with most new jobs primarily supporting light-duty manufacturing operations.
The facility became fully operational in August 2026 following upgrades that added 480V power capability to support production of the company’s DECI-TEX® nonwoven fiber-based acoustic and thermal technology and related products.
John Babi, president of L&L Products Americas, offered the opening remarks at the event:
“L&L Products has been proud to call West Columbia home for more than 20 years, and since 2003, our talented team has designed and manufactured solutions here that help customers around the world build better products. This grand opening is both a celebration of what we have accomplished together and an investment in what comes next. With room for new equipment, technologies and employees, this facility positions us to serve new customers, create new opportunities and continue growing in West Columbia.”
The grand opening event brought together local team members, company leaders and guests from the West Columbia business community including representatives from the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Central SC Alliance, Lexington County Council and Lexington School District.
Dee Reaves, senior group leader at L&L Products, also spoke on behalf of the local team:
